Matt Nasser

Curator

Director of La MaMa Galleria from 2009 to 2018, Matt Nasser has worked with hundreds of artists and curators from all over the world. He has created exhibitions in partnership with institutions such as The New Museum, The New York Public Library, NYU, Yale, The Cooper Union and Visual Aids. Although Matt has worked with artists at all stages of their careers, his focus is curating exhibitions that showcase underrepresented emerging artists. Matt is also an accomplished performer and stage director. He has worked in the downtown theatre and performance art community since graduating from Boston University's Collage of Fine Arts in 2006. Matt is a member of the Great Jones Repertory at La MaMa as well as the Big Art Group and the Deconstructive Theatre Project. He has collaborated with artists such as John Kelly and The Bruce High Quality Foundation on their performance work and is very interested in bridging the gap between visual art and performance. email: matt@emptycirclespace.com


Raúl Zamudio

Curator

New York-based independent curator and arts writer. He has curated or co-curated over 125 exhibitions in the Americas, Asia, and Europe in galleries, museums, art fairs, art festivals, alternative art spaces, and biennials. He has contributed to dozens of art-related books and exhibition catalogs and written for numerous periodicals including Art Nexus, Contemporary, TRANS, Zingmagazine, Tema Celeste, Art in Culture, [Art Notes], Framework: The Finnish Art Review, Public Art, and Flash Art.  He was International Art Director, Other Gallery, Beijing, Shanghai, and Curatorial Director, WhiteBox, NY. email:  raul@emptycirclespace.com 


MARIANA CORONIL

Director / Digital Design

Artist who paints abstracted images from nature. She creates the digital design and art images for the Empty Circle and directs the space. She has more than a decade working in art advisory services as well as one-on-one with working artists in film, photography and fine arts. Alexandra Zelman-Doring

 Theater curator

is artistic director of THROES THEATER. Her plays have been presented at The Flea Theater, Access Theater, The Edinburgh Fringe, 59E59th, Dixon Place, HERE Arts Center, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the New Ohio Theatre. She teaches at NYU’s graduate Film program.


Naum Goldenstein

 Music Theater

is a third generation clarinet player, whose unique, colorful sound has been widely praised. Freelance work includes playing with Mozart Divertimento Trio, the Symphony Orchestra of Raanana, and the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He collaborated with Throes Theater on critically acclaimed “Halfway through the Story of Our Life,” where his playing was praised for its “beautiful tone and sensitive pacing” by New York Arts. Recently, he performed at La MaMa with the Faux-Real Company, and played Alain Middleton's "Music in Klezmer Modes" with Iktus Percussion at Alain Kirili's loft. He also played with the New York Harmonic Band at Carnegie Hall.  Goldenstein teaches music at Hannah Sennesh School. Contact naum@emptycirclespace.com
